In a bid to ensure a hitch-free and transparent disbursement of refunds for the 2023 pilgrims from Nasarawa State, The Executive Secretary of the board Mallam Idris Ahmad Almakura has held a crucial meeting with the Chairman and Board Members.
The meeting according to the Executive Secretary was aimed at briefing the board members for the refund of about 61,000 to each of the 2023 pilgrims scheduled to commence on 10th-Dec-2024 at the board’s headquarters in Lafia.
The Executive Secretary of the board also noted that the meeting has reached a unanimous decision that all beneficiaries must present their 2023 travelling documents or payment of Hajj fare receipt and account number and no payment by proxy.
In a related development, The Executive Secretary of the board Mallam Idris Almakura has interacted with the Local Government Hajj Coordinators to inform them of the board’s intention to commence refund as he rolls out criteria.
He urged all hajj coordinators to reach out to their 2023 pilgrims for a refund with all necessary evidence and detailed account numbers.
For those with special cases such as death, necessary evidence must be tendered for verification and possible consideration of refund.
