The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) wishes to notify the public that registration for the 2025 Hajj exercise officially closed on Friday, 2nd May. This deadline extension, granted by the NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, followed the earlier contractual deadline of 25th March 2025.

The closure was deemed necessary to enable the Commission focus fully on the smooth airlift and welfare arrangements for registered pilgrims. Consequently, any Hajj fare payments made after the 2nd of May will be refunded.
Airlift operations will begin on 9th May, with the inaugural flight departing from Owerri, Imo State. Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as host, as 315 pilgrims from Imo, Abia, and Bayelsa states are set to board an Air Peace flight to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima is expected as Special Guest of Honour at the flag-off event. NAHCON’s advance team has already arrived in Owerri to finalize preparations.
A total of 40,671 pilgrims have registered under the government quota for the 2025 Hajj. Four flights will depart simultaneously on 9th May: Max Air from Bauchi; FlyNas from Kebbi and Osun (via Lagos); and another from Niger State—bringing 2,528 pilgrims to Madinah on Day One.
