Speaking during a live “Fatwa” radio programme on Nagarta Radio, Kaduna, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, AHMSP National Coordinator, Ibrahim Abubakar Nagarta, stressed the importance of collaboration and dedication to ensure Nigeria’s Hajj operations bring pride to the nation and to Islam.
The association commended NAHCON for the robust preparations already in place both at home and in Saudi Arabia, aimed at achieving a smooth, hitch-free pilgrimage.
AHMSP also lauded the federal government’s intervention through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), which suspended its earlier plan to replace cash with ATM cards for pilgrims. The group described the move as timely and thoughtful, noting that it would spare pilgrims unnecessary hardship and ensure a more comfortable experience.
In a message to intending pilgrims, AHMSP urged them to conduct themselves as good ambassadors of Nigeria and adhere to the teachings received during pre-Hajj orientation programmes. Pilgrims were also advised to respect Saudi laws and manage their Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) wisely to avoid financial strain before returning home.
AHMSP reaffirmed its commitment to sensitising and informing the public on issues related to the Hajj through professional med Piia engagement.
