The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) is poised to sign the 2026 Hajj airlift agreement with four designated carriers, in what industry observers describe as a significant step in preparations for next year’s pilgrimage.
A senior official from one of the approved airlines disclosed the development to Hajj Gazette, characterizing the forthcoming agreement as a major operational advancement that underscores early planning and coordination.
The airlines selected for the 2026 Hajj operations are Max Air, Umza Air, Air Peace, and Flynas, with Flynas serving as the designated Saudi carrier.
Aviation and Hajj industry stakeholders believe the formalization of the agreement will provide a clear operational framework for the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims.
The move is expected to strengthen coordination between Nigerian and Saudi aviation authorities, streamline flight schedules, and minimize potential logistical setbacks.
In parallel, Hajj visa processing is scheduled to conclude by March 20, effectively narrowing the administrative window for all stakeholders involved in the exercise. Airlines have consequently been instructed to upload and verify their flight schedules well ahead of the deadline to prevent last-minute disruptions.
Observers say the development signals NAHCON’s proactive posture and determination to deliver a well-coordinated, efficient, and hitch-free 2026 Hajj operation.
