With gratitude to Allah, we welcome the blessed occasion of Eid al-Adha  a commemoration of devotion, obedience, and sacrifice. On behalf of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), I extend warm felicitations to all Muslims across the country and beyond. Our heartfelt congratulations go especially to the pilgrims who stood on the plains of Arafat may Almighty Allah accept your prayers, your sacrifices, and those offered by Muslims around the world.

As we mark this sacred festival, let us reflect on the deeper meanings of the Hajj rites. Recall the unwavering trust that Sayyidatuna Hajara had in Allah, which led to the miraculous emergence of Zamzam. Reflect on Prophet Ibrahim’s profound submission to Allah’s will when he left his family in the barren desert, trusting solely in Divine care. Allah, in His mercy, rewarded this obedience by transforming that desolate land into the blessed and thriving city of Makkah. These acts teach us that faith, trust in Allah, and obedience yield enduring blessings both spiritual and material. They are the foundation of thriving communities and strong nations.

On this auspicious day, I take this opportunity to acknowledge the tremendous cooperation and commendable discipline shown by Nigerian pilgrims throughout this year’s Hajj. Your orderly conduct made our work significantly easier, and we are truly grateful.

We also appreciate the steadfast support and coordination from the State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Boards. Their dedication and organizational efficiency have played a vital role in the success of this year’s operations.

To our NAHCON staff—many of whom performed their duties even while in the sacred state of ihram—we deeply appreciate your devotion. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we pray that Allah rewards you abundantly.

We are equally thankful to our esteemed Board Members and ad-hoc personnel for their selfless service and resilience in fulfilling the noble responsibility of catering to the guests of Allah.

We must also recognize the unwavering support of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima. Their guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in ensuring the smooth coordination of this year’s Hajj.

Special commendation also goes to the service providers in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Their enhanced performance contributed significantly to the overall success of the pilgrimage.

As we celebrate, I am pleased to announce that the return journey for Nigerian pilgrims is scheduled to begin on the 13th of Dhul-Hijjah. The first flights will include pilgrims from Imo State aboard Air Peace, Bauchi State with Max Air, and Kebbi and Sokoto States via Flynas. We urge pilgrims to be adequately prepared and pray for an orderly and seamless return process for all.

Eid Mubarak to you all. May Allah accept our Hajj, our sacrifices

, and our prayers.
