In the face of relentless sabotage, coordinated smear campaigns, and a barrage of baseless petitions, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, remained unshaken not because the road was easy, but because he entrusted his journey to the One who never fails.

From the onset of his appointment, Professor Usman faced stiff opposition from certain quarters who were determined to frustrate his vision of reforming and strengthening Hajj operations in Nigeria. These elements launched coordinated attacks ranging from misleading media reports to institutional resistance all aimed at discrediting his leadership and destabilizing the Commission’s preparations for the 2025 Hajj.

But amidst these storms, Professor Usman chose a path less traveled: submission to his Creator.

Rather than retaliate, he embraced silence, resilience, and prayer. He focused his energy on fulfilling his mandate and placed his trust in divine intervention. It was a leadership deeply anchored in faith driven by the belief that “whoever submits his affairs to his Creator, surely Allah will take care of them.”

True to this conviction, the 2025 Hajj operations have now gone down in history as one of the most well-coordinated and successful Hajj exercises Nigeria has ever witnessed. From airlifting to accommodation, from feeding to Mashā’ir logistics, the NAHCON team under his leadership demonstrated exceptional organization, transparency, and commitment to pilgrims’ welfare.

For the first time in years, pilgrims commended the seamlessness of transportation between Makkah, Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah. Incidents were minimal, support systems were timely, and most importantly, the dignity and spirituality of pilgrims were upheld throughout the rites. Even in the face of external challenges and infrastructural constraints in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Nigeria’s operations stood out for discipline and excellence.

Now, in the aftermath of this remarkable feat, everyone is celebrating with the NAHCON Chairman from Saudi-based service providers to Nigerian stakeholders and partner agencies. The collective joy is overwhelming, and the sense of accomplishment is undeniable. What a blessing from Almighty Allah!

This success is not just a testament to administrative competence—it is a divine vindication of steadfastness, patience, and unwavering reliance on Allah.

Professor Usman’s story is a reminder to all public office holders and leaders: faith is not weakness. Submitting one’s affairs to Allah is not an escape it is the highest form of accountability. When humans conspire, Allah plans and His plan is always the best.

As the dust settles on Hajj 2025, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman’s leadership shines not just in performance metrics but in moral courage. He has proved that integrity, patience, and submission to divine will can triumph even in the murkiest waters of public service.

Indeed, those who hand over their affairs to their Creator will find that He is the best of planners, the most Just of judges, and the most capable of defenders
