By Abdulkadir Aliyu Shehu The Gombe State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the printing of visas for intending pilgrims from the state who will perform the 2026 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The development marks a significant step in preparations for this year’s pilgrimage, as officials of the board intensify efforts to ensure a smooth, hitch-free exercise for all registered pilgrims from the state.
According to board officials, the visa printing process began after the successful completion and verification of the documentation submitted by intending pilgrims.
The board explained that the exercise is part of the arrangements put in place to ensure that all pilgrims from Gombe State meet the requirements set by the Saudi authorities ahead of the annual pilgrimage.
It also noted that the printing of visas will be carried out in batches, depending on the completion of documentation and clearance processes for each pilgrim.
Officials further stated that the process will continue in the coming days until all eligible pilgrims from the state have their visas printed and processed accordingly.
The board assured intending pilgrims that the exercise is being handled with utmost care and transparency to avoid errors or delays that could affect their travel plans.
In addition, the board urged all pilgrims who have completed their payments and documentation to remain patient while the process continues.
The management of the board emphasised that arrangements are also being made for other aspects of the pilgrimage, including orientation programmes and medical screenings.
These activities, according to the board, are necessary to prepare pilgrims spiritually, mentally, and physically for the sacred journey.
Officials also advised intending pilgrims to remain in close contact with the board for updates and further instructions regarding the Hajj exercise.
They added that pilgrims will be duly informed about the schedule for the next stages of the preparation once the visa printing process progresses.
The board reaffirmed its commitment to providing quality services to pilgrims from Gombe State throughout the Hajj process.
It also called on all intending pilgrims to cooperate with officials to ensure the success of the exercise.
The Hajj pilgrimage is one of the five pillars of Islam and is performed annually by millions of Muslims from across the world in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah in Saudi Arabia.
