The Executive Secretary Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris has sought the assistance of Bauchi Local Government Council to achieve a greater feat on the task to achieve success on the forthcoming 2025 hajj exercise.
The Executive Secretary made the plea when he paid an advocacy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Bauchi LGC Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar today Friday 6th December, 2024, in his office
Imam Abdurrahman said the 2025 hajj came with a lot of numerous challenges ranging from time constraints and higher rate of Dollars against Nigerian money.
He said the Bauchi Pilgrims Board is expected to remit the first hajj deposit to National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON on the 18th, November 2024 and the number of registered intending pilgrims with the Board is up to now highly discouraging.
Imam Abdurrahman has recognised a critical role of Local Government Councils and community leaders, therefore called for a rebust partnership with the Bauchi LGCs to achieve a desired goal.
Earlier, in his remarks the Executive Chairman Bauchi Local Government Council Hon. Alh. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar expressed a readiness of his Local to support the Board on this challenges.
Hon. Babamaji Abubakar acknowledged that the 2025 hajj deposit of N8.5M is so intimidating, assured that the intending pilgrims need adequate awareness to meet the deadline.
He promised that his councils will redouble effort in the areas of pilgrims education and awareness through religious and community leaders to mobilise the intending pilgrims who are at the remote Areas.
Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman Bauchi LGA . Hon. Mahmood Babamaji Abubakar has also used the forum to express his deep- felt sympathy on the recent death of the late Chief Imam Gwallaga Jummuat Mosque, Imam Ibrahim Idris.
He described the death of the Imam as inevitable, a loss not only to the family but to the entire Umma, prayed almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings, grant him jannatul firdausi and give his family members the fortitude to beat the loss.
