The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has lauded the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for its exceptional dedication and remarkable performance in preparations for the 2026 Hajj.

In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said During a joint meeting with State Pilgrims Welfare Agencies held today in Abuja, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alh. Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, revealed that the Board has so far remitted over ₦22 billion to NAHCON.
He explained that this substantial and timely remittance reflects Kano State’s unwavering commitment to delivering a seamless, well-coordinated, and timely Hajj operation for its intending pilgrims.
In his address, the NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman, commended Kano State for setting an exceptional benchmark among all participating states. He described Kano as “a standout performer”, citing the Board’s transparency, efficiency, and proactive approach to planning.
Prof. Usman also praised the Board’s leadership for its continuous efforts in strengthening service delivery, improving pilgrims’ welfare, and sustaining a strong working relationship with the Commission.
Kano State’s early preparedness and financial compliance underscore its determination to provide intending pilgrims with the highest level of support, comfort, and guidance throughout the 2026 Hajj exercise.
