The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Nigeria, amidst calls for the removal of the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Usman Saleh, extended their full support to him, offering special prayers and goodwill messages for his success.

Some NAHCON board members have sought his removal, through a Board of no confidence on his Leadership at the Hajj Commission, but Izala Group viewed the action as purely Political which is dangerous to the success of this year’s 2026 exercise.
In a statement posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday, the Islamic organization prayed for divine guidance, protection, and success for the NAHCON chairman as he continues to lead Nigeria’s Hajj operations. JIBWIS asked God to keep him steadfast on the right path, grant him wisdom and leadership capacity, protect him from individuals with malicious intentions, and bless all his endeavors with success.
The group placed particular emphasis on the responsibility entrusted to Sheikh Usman in overseeing and coordinating Nigeria’s Hajj operations, describing the assignment as demanding and requiring steadfast leadership, integrity, and divine support.
The endorsement comes at a time when internal tensions have emerged within NAHCON, following a petition reportedly submitted by some members of the commission’s board to the Presidency, calling for the chairman’s removal over alleged governance and administrative concerns.
While the petition has continued to generate public debate and stakeholder reactions, JIBWIS’ message signals support for Sheikh Usman’s leadership and underscores the role of faith-based organizations in offering moral and spiritual backing to public office holders, especially in sensitive religious assignments.
