The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the fourth and final phase of medical screening for intending pilgrims from the state, as part of preparations for the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Habibu Yusuf Babura, said the screening, currently taking place at the General Hospital Dutse, is being supervised by the Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, who paid a monitoring visit to the facility to assess the progress of the exercise.
During the visit, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the screening process and reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to shouldering the full financial responsibility of the medical exercise to ensure that no intending pilgrim is charged any fee.
The Executive Secretary emphasized that the initiative reflects the Jigawa State Government’s dedication to safeguarding the health and well-being of its pilgrims, while ensuring compliance with Hajj guidelines.
Speaking earlier, the leader of the medical team, Dr. Abubakar Habib, stated that the screening is being conducted in line with the directives of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board as well as the regulations of the Saudi Arabian Hajj and Umrah authorities.
He stressed that only medically fit pilgrims will be cleared to participate in the Hajj.
Dr. Habib further assured that the health status of pilgrims will continue to be monitored throughout the Hajj operation, from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia.
The Board reiterates its commitment to ensuring safe, smooth, and successful Hajj preparations for all intending pilgrims from Jigawa State.
