The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced preparations for the 2026 Hajj following the directive of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
Speaking at a meeting with Board Members, Management Staff, and Local Government Hajj Center Officers, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, disclosed that the approved deposit for intending pilgrims from Kano State is ₦8.5 million.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, Dan Bappa explained that payments will be received through bank drafts submitted to Local Government Hajj Center Officers. He further revealed that Kano State has been allocated 5,684 seats for the forthcoming exercise.
Deposit collection, according to him, takes effect immediately and will close on October 5, 2025, when the final Hajj fare is expected to be announced. Intending pilgrims are also required to submit eight passport photographs and a valid international passport for registration.
Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u appealed to prospective pilgrims to comply with the payment schedule provided by Saudi authorities to avoid last-minute challenges.
On his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, prayed for Allah’s assistance in making the pilgrimage accessible to all intending pilgrims. He also urged Local Government Hajj Center Officers to work tirelessly in safeguarding and managing their seat allocations.
