The Head of Hajj Compliance, Alhaji Yusif Abubakar Abba, has commended the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board for its early and comprehensive preparations toward the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said Alhaji Abubakar Abba made the commendation on Monday during a visit to the Board’s headquarters in Kano as part of his zonal tour of state pilgrims’ welfare boards.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness by the Kano Board, noting that it has already secured the State Hajj License, established a fully functional ICT section, and completed all necessary arrangements for office accommodation and the State Hajj Camp.
Speaking during the visit, the Zonal Coordinator of the Kano Zone, Alhaji Umar Muhd Kalgo, also lauded the Board for its outstanding performance in Hajj management.
He said that even before assuming office, he had received consistent reports describing the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board as a “first-class performer” in all aspects of Hajj operations.
In his response, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, appreciated the delegation for their recognition and encouragement.
He attributed the Board’s achievements to the unwavering support and commitment of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif, whose leadership, he said, has made it possible to attain remarkable progress in Hajj management.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, thanked the visiting officials from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), describing the visit as timely and encouraging.
He assured the team that the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board would continue to uphold the highest standards in service delivery to pilgrims and maintain its leadership position in Hajj management across the country.
