The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has taken a significant step in enhancing medical service delivery during Hajj by setting up a technical committee to assess the CVST Pharmacy Application.

During a presentation at NAHCON headquarters, the Chairman/CEO, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, alongside Commissioners and medical personnel, received a detailed briefing on the app from CVST Pharmacy Limited.
The delegation, led by Amb. Dr. Adam K. Mohammed, with Mayowa Ajiboye as the presenter, showcased how the app could improve medication management, drug dispensation, and patient record-keeping for Nigerian pilgrims.
While acknowledging the potential benefits of the initiative, Professor Saleh Usman clarified that no immediate approval had been granted. Instead, he directed that a committee be formed to critically examine the app’s compatibility with NAHCON’s medical team requirements, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Commissioner of Operations, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, stressed the need for further collaboration with CVST Pharmacy Limited to determine the app’s feasibility. Meanwhile, NAHCON’s Head of ICT, Shehu Raji, highlighted that the commission already operates the “Hajj Companion” app, which performs similar functions but lacks AI capabilities. He expressed interest in exploring additional features that could enhance Hajj medical services.
Medical staff from the NAHCON Clinic also provided insights on key concerns such as data security, offline accessibility, and system integration.
The committee’s recommendations will guide NAHCON’s final decision on whether to adopt the CVST Pharmacy Application for Hajj medical operations.
