Commends Prof. Abdullahi Saleh Usman for steering the Commission toward a successful 2025 Hajj operation
As preparations for the 2025 Hajj reach a crucial stage, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has received high praise from prominent Islamic scholar and Chairman of the Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Abdullahi Bala Lau.
In an exclusive interview granted in Madinah, Sheikh Bala Lau applauded the current leadership of the Commission under Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, describing his performance as both outstanding and timely. Speaking in Hausa, he attributed NAHCON’s renewed momentum and progress to the chairman’s deep understanding of the Hajj environment and the unique challenges Nigerian pilgrims often face.
“Sheikh Abdullahi Pakistan has brought a new sense of direction and purpose to the Commission,” said Sheikh Bala Lau. “His background as a respected preacher and Islamic scholar has proven invaluable. I believe he is the first renowned Islamic cleric to be appointed as NAHCON Chairman since the agency was established in 2006, and his approach reflects both competence and compassion.”
The JIBWIS leader also expressed his satisfaction with the Commission’s readiness for the upcoming pilgrimage, noting that arrangements have been commendably put in place to ensure Nigerian pilgrims perform the fifth pillar of Islam with ease and dignity.
He called on Nigerians, especially members of the Muslim Ummah, to offer prayers for Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman and his team, urging them to continue supporting the Commission in its efforts to serve the spiritual and logistical needs of pilgrims.
“Success in Hajj operations is not a one-man show,” Sheikh Lau emphasized. “It requires collective prayers, support, and understanding. I urge all stakeholders to join hands with the Commission to ensure this year’s pilgrimage is a landmark success
