No fewer than 33.8 million iftar meals were served to worshippers at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque throughout Ramadan 1447 AH.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the large-scale distribution underscores Saudi Arabia’s continued commitment to caring for pilgrims and ensuring a spiritually fulfilling environment at Islam’s two holiest sites.
The exercise was conducted under a coordinated service framework supervised by the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.
The authority implemented structured arrangements, including designated distribution areas and strict health measures, to facilitate safe and orderly service delivery.
Special attention was given to peak periods, particularly in the moments leading up to Maghrib prayer, to ensure that both worshippers and Umrah performers received meals seamlessly.
The initiative highlights the Kingdom’s efficiency in crowd management and service delivery, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 aimed at enhancing the experience of pilgrims at the holy mosques.
