The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the distribution of hand luggage and uniforms to intending pilgrims across the state ahead of the forthcoming Hajj exercise.
According to the statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said Flagging off the exercise, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, said the initiative was part of efforts to ensure that all registered pilgrims are adequately prepared for the spiritual journey.
He directed Hajj centre officers in the 44 Local Government Areas to ensure a smooth and coordinated distribution process, stressing the need for timely and orderly delivery of the items to pilgrims at the grassroots.
Matawalle also disclosed that the state has successfully completed the processing and collection of visas for its intending pilgrims, assuring that all necessary arrangements for the Hajj have been concluded.
According to him, the Board has procured enough materials to cater for all pilgrims without exception.
Items being distributed include hand luggage, male uniforms, wrappers and hijabs for female pilgrims, as well as Hajj guide books to assist them throughout the pilgrimage.
He urged the pilgrims to make judicious use of the items and maintain them properly.
