The Nigeria Youth Progressives Movement (NYPM) has expressed solidarity with the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, following recent media reports surrounding allegations against him.

In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Abdurashid Shuaibu, the Movement said it had taken note of the recent developments and called on the public to exercise restraint and allow due process to take its course.

According to the statement, the NYPM emphasized that allegations remain mere accusations until proven otherwise, stressing that Professor Usman’s leadership record speaks volumes about his integrity, transparency, and dedication to public service.

“Your track record is a testament to your commitment to public service and your unwavering dedication to the upliftment of the Nigerian people,” the statement read.

“We have every confidence that the relevant authorities will uncover the truth, and your exemplary leadership qualities will once again shine through.”

The group further revealed its intention to deploy its nationwide and diaspora network to sensitize the public on the NAHCON Chairman’s outstanding leadership qualities and impeccable past records.

NYPM reaffirmed its belief in the presumption of innocence, describing it as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s legal system, and urged the media and public to refrain from premature judgments.

“In the interest of justice and fairness, we appeal to all Nigerians to avoid hasty conclusions. The courts remain the only competent authority to determine the outcome of any allegations,” the statement added.

Dr. Shuaibu concluded by assuring Professor Usman of the unwavering support of Nigerian youths, academics, and women under the NYPM platform, noting that the organization would do everything lawful to defend his integrity.

“We stand firmly with you and your family at this trying time and trust that the truth will ultimately prevail,” he said.
