The Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, has expressed deep sadness over the death of Alhaji Salisu Abdullahi Gaya, a staff member of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), who passed away after a brief illness.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, Alhaji Salisu Abdullahi Gaya, aged 55, until his death, served at the Kano Zonal Office of NAHCON. He is survived by his wife and three children.
Matawalle made the remarks during a condolence visit to the family of the deceased, where he described the death as a painful loss to his family, colleagues and the Hajj community.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, grant him eternal rest and admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus.
The Director-General was accompanied during the visit by a delegation from NAHCON, including the Director of Administration, Alhaji Alidu Shuti; Director, States and Zones, Malam Muhammad Ahmad Shira; Director of Planning, Alhaji Ibrahim Mahmud; and Special Adviser to the Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Muhammad Maigari.
Alhaji Matawalle urged the bereaved family to remain united, maintain peace and continue to support one another as they cope with the loss.
He also prayed for Allah to grant the family the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
