The Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, has visited the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf, at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
According to the statement by the Head of Information and Publications of the Commission, Shafii Sani Mohammed, during the visit, the Emir reaffirmed the traditional institution’s support for NAHCON and called for sustained efforts to improve efficiency, transparency and early preparations in the administration of Hajj operations.
Ambassador Bamalli described Hajj administration as a major responsibility involving the coordination of tens of thousands of pilgrims, stressing the need for effective planning, dedication and continuous improvement.
He also highlighted the important role of traditional institutions in mobilising, educating and sensitising intending pilgrims to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj exercise.
The Emir said the safety, comfort and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims must remain a priority, while assuring NAHCON of the prayers, counsel and support of the Zazzau Emirate.
Responding, NAHCON Chairman Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf expressed appreciation to the Emir for the visit, describing it as a significant encouragement to the Commission’s management and staff.
He briefed the royal father on NAHCON’s ongoing policy reforms, digital initiatives and strategic partnerships designed to reduce costs, improve pilgrims’ accommodation and feeding arrangements, and enhance the efficiency of airlift operations.
Ambassador Yusuf assured the Emir that the Commission would consider the recommendations made during the meeting as part of its efforts to further strengthen Hajj administration and provide improved services to Nigerian pilgrims.
