The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has been recognized as the top-performing state in Nigeria for pilgrims’ accommodation during the 2026 Hajj operation, following an assessment conducted by online Hajj Magazine
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Habibu Yusuf Babura, the recognition was presented at the Board’s headquarters in Dutse by a delegation led by Malam Awwal Ahmed Umar, representing the Hajj Gazette assessment committee.
According to the committee, its assessment was based on statistical analysis, physical verification and interviews with pilgrims.
The findings showed that Jigawa pilgrims were accommodated in locations among the closest to the Holy Ka’aba, providing greater convenience and comfort throughout the Hajj exercise.
The committee also commended the Board for the quality of its catering services provided to the pilgrims.
Receiving the recognition, the Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, FCFA, NFI, expressed appreciation for the award, describing it as an encouragement to the Board to sustain its commitment to pilgrims’ welfare.
He said the recognition reflects the Board’s open-door policy, transparency and dedication to providing quality services, while reaffirming its commitment to delivering improved services in future Hajj operations.
The Director-General also assured that the Board would continue to prioritize the welfare and satisfaction of Jigawa pilgrims while maintaining its commitment to responsible and transparent service delivery.
