As part of its commitment to delivering a successful and seamless Hajj experience in 2025, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has conducted a crucial catering simulation at the Rawaf Mina offices in Makkah.

In a statement by the Head of Public Affairs of the Commission, Muhammad Ahmad Musa, said The exercise was specifically aimed at assessing the quality, timing, and overall standard of meals designated for Nigerian pilgrims under the care of licensed Private Tour Operators.

Leading the inspection on behalf of the Chairman/CEO, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, was NAHCON’s Deputy Coordinator in Makkah, Mr. Alidu Shutti. He was accompanied by other officials as they evaluated the food samples provided by Rawaf Mina, a Saudi firm contracted to serve pilgrims at the sacred sites of Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah during the core Hajj days.

Mr. Shutti stressed that the Commission would not compromise on standards, insisting that the meals served during the Hajj must mirror those presented during the tasting—in flavor, portion size, and nutritional value. “Punctuality and consistency in both quality and quantity are non-negotiable,” he asserted, underscoring NAHCON’s goal of delivering one of the most satisfying Hajj experiences for Nigerian pilgrims in recent years.

In response, the Chief Executive Officer of Rawaf Mina, Mr. Zuhaer A. Sadayu, assured the visiting delegation that a qualified food service consultant had been engaged to oversee the entire catering process. He added that all feedback from the exercise would be carefully incorporated into final arrangements to ensure optimum service delivery.

Also in attendance was NAHCON’s Saudi Liaison Officer, Ustaz Abubakar Lamin, who commended Rawaf Mina for facilitating the meal inspection and reiterated the Commission’s commitment to safeguarding pilgrims’ welfare in all facets of the Hajj.

This initiative forms part of a wider strategy by NAHCON to strengthen service delivery during the tashriq period and beyond. The Commission remains steadfast in its resolve to prioritize the well-being of Nigerian pilgrims throughout the 2025 Hajj operations.
