The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, has attributed the Commission’s neutral and inclusive approach to the exemplary leadership style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Speaking on Saturday in Kano during an event organized by the Tudunmurtala Development Foundation, Professor Usman said the Commission operates strictly in line with President Tinubu’s directive to serve all Muslim Nigerians without political or sectarian bias.
“We regard this Commission as an office for all Muslim Nigerians, regardless of political affiliation or sectarian inclination. This reflects President Tinubu’s vision and mandate to us,” he stated.
The NAHCON Chairman, who was honoured by the Foundation chaired by Alhaji Yahya Bagobiri, a prominent PDP stalwart for his successful coordination of the 2025 Hajj exercise, noted that the pilgrimage was widely regarded as one of the most successful in Nigeria’s recent history.
The event, held at the Royal Prime Hall in Kano, drew dignitaries and participants from various political parties, including the APC, NNPP, and PDP, as well as leaders from the major Islamic sects Izala, Tijjaniyya, and Qadiriyya.
Professor Usman commended the gathering as a reflection of the unity President Tinubu envisions for Nigeria, adding that NAHCON remains committed to promoting inclusiveness and harmony in its operations.
“This gathering clearly demonstrates that President Tinubu’s mission of uniting Nigerians beyond political or religious divides is yielding results. On our part, we will continue to sustain this spirit of inclusivity,” he added.
In their separate remarks, dignitaries at the event lauded Professor Usman’s leadership and commitment to fairness.
Member of the House of Representatives representing Nassarawa Federal Constituency, Hon. Hassan Shehu Hussain of the NNPP, praised the NAHCON Chairman for upholding Islamic values and integrity in managing the Commission’s affairs.
Hon. Hussain also highlighted the NNPP-led administration’s strides in Kano State, noting that his constituency had benefited from several road projects and other developmental initiatives, with more to come in areas like Tudunmurtala and Rimin Kebbe.
Similarly, a member of the Kano State House of Assembly, Engr. M.D. Aliyu, commended the organizers of the event and reaffirmed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment alongside the Federal Government to delivering more dividends of democracy to the people.
