The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has urged intending pilgrims for the upcoming Hajj exercise to make their deposits early to facilitate smooth and timely preparations for the pilgrimage.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, made the call during a strategic engagement meeting with Juma’at Mosque Imams held on Thursday at the Tourist Camp Conference Hall in Kano.
Alhaji Danbappa explained that early payment was in line with directives from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) and the Saudi authorities, stressing that prompt deposits would enable the Board to coordinate logistics, accommodation, and travel arrangements efficiently.
He disclosed that the approved Hajj deposit per pilgrim is ₦8,244,813.67, and advised all intending pilgrims to make their payments as soon as possible to avoid last-minute challenges.
Speaking during the event, the NAHCON Zonal Coordinator for Kano Zone, Alhaji Umar Muhammad Kalgo, commended Kano State for consistently ranking among the top-performing states in terms of registered pilgrims. He attributed the achievement to the state’s proactive planning and extensive sensitization efforts.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, underscored the importance of early preparation and urged religious leaders to assist in enlightening their congregations about the need for timely registration and payment.
The Board reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a successful Hajj operation and appealed to all intending pilgrims to take advantage of the ongoing window for deposit payments.
