The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board says it has completed all essential preparations for the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said the Board confirmed that key logistics including accommodation, feeding, transportation, and tent allocations have been fully secured in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Speaking during a stakeholders’ briefing at the Board’s headquarters, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, expressed satisfaction with the level of readiness ahead of next year’s pilgrimage.
He noted that the early approvals and support of the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, were instrumental in achieving timely and effective planning.
Danbappa disclosed that a recent pre-Hajj visit to Saudi Arabia enabled the delegation to meet all requirements set by Saudi authorities and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). The team inspected accommodation in both Makkah and Madinah to ensure conformity with global hospitality and safety standards.
He added that transportation arrangements had been finalized with service providers to ensure seamless movement of pilgrims between holy sites. Similarly, feeding arrangements were thoroughly evaluated, with emphasis on hygiene, menu quality, and consistency throughout the period of worship.
According to him, tent facilities at Mina and Arafat were also reviewed to guarantee adequate space, proper ventilation, and uninterrupted access to essential amenities for Kano pilgrims.
The Director General appealed to intending pilgrims to complete their Hajj fare before the December 5, 2025 deadline, warning that late payment could result in losing their slots due to strict timelines set by NAHCON and Saudi authorities. He urged community leaders and Hajj agents to mobilize compliance to prevent avoidable challenges.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, commended the proactive measures taken by the management and reaffirmed its commitment to delivering efficient and transparent services to pilgrims.
Lawan encouraged intending pilgrims to finalize their arrangements early, noting that proper preparation is crucial for a smooth and spiritually rewarding Hajj. He further urged pilgrims to continue praying for peace and stability in Kano and Nigeria, stressing that a peaceful environment enables public institutions to function effectively.
He reminded intending pilgrims that Hajj is a sacred obligation that requires discipline, cooperation, and patience, assuring the public that the Board remains committed to accountability and excellence.
The Pilgrims Welfare Board reiterated its readiness to guide pilgrims through registration and all preparatory processes, while advising the public to rely on official communication channels and disregard misinformation from unauthorized sources.
