The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced the medical screening and immunization exercise for intending pilgrims in the state as part of preparations for the upcoming 2026 Hajj exercise.
In a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, officially declared the exercise open at the Hajj Camp Clinic, Kano State.
Speaking at the event, the Director General emphasized that the medical screening and immunization exercise is mandatory for all intending pilgrims, in line with directives from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He noted that the exercise is aimed at ensuring the physical fitness of pilgrims and safeguarding their health before the issuance of Hajj visas for the 2026 pilgrimage.
According to him, the exercise is designed to accommodate 250 pilgrims daily, with participants attending according to their respective Local Government Areas in order to ensure a smooth and stress-free process.
Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle commended the medical personnel and officials involved for their dedication and commitment, and urged intending pilgrims to cooperate fully with health officials to ensure the success of the exercise.
