Medical, Security Teams Boost Services at Makkah, Madinah Mosques as Ramadan Ends

Authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have intensified healthcare and security services at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque to ensure the safety and comfort of millions of worshippers as Ramadan draws to a close.

At the heart of Makkah, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority has maintained a robust ambulance service across the Grand Mosque and surrounding central areas, forming part of a broader emergency healthcare network designed for rapid response.

Medical personnel have been deployed on foot patrol, while lightweight ambulances are being utilized to navigate congested zones and provide swift assistance where needed.

In parallel, security measures have been heightened by the Special Forces for Road Security, particularly along major access routes into Makkah and Madinah. This includes reinforced checkpoints and increased patrols on key highways, notably the Riyadh–Taif corridor.

Officials say the coordinated efforts of health and security agencies underscore the Kingdom’s commitment to delivering efficient and high-quality services to Umrah pilgrims during one of the busiest periods of the Islamic calendar.

Meanwhile, the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque has distributed over one million copies of the Holy Qur’an across the two holy mosques, supporting worshippers in their prayers and spiritual reflection.

The ongoing operations are part of an integrated system designed to manage the surge in visitors, particularly during the final ten days of Ramadan, when attendance typically peaks.
