The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has deployed 240 male and female staff across the courtyards of Masjid al-Haram under the “Ask Me” initiative, providing on-ground guidance, crowd management, and support for worshippers and Umrah pilgrims.

Key Takeaways

  • 240 male and female staff have been deployed across Masjid al-Haram’s courtyards under the “Ask Me” initiative.
  • Teams guide worshippers to designated prayer areas, assist emergency teams in reaching those in need quickly, and help manage crowd flow at entrances and exits.
  • Staff coordinate with all entities operating inside the mosque to keep pathways open and reduce congestion during peak hours.

The General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques has activated its field operations across the courtyards of Masjid al-Haram by deploying 240 male and female staff as part of the “Ask Me” initiative.

The teams are stationed throughout the mosque’s courtyards to provide direct guidance and support to worshippers, Umrah pilgrims, and visitors during the busiest period of the year.

What the Teams Do

Field teams are responsible for directing worshippers to designated prayer areas within the courtyards, ensuring that pilgrims can find their place quickly without confusion.

They also play a key role in keeping pathways clear for emergency medical teams, enabling rapid access whenever needed.

Staff coordinate directly with all entities operating inside Masjid al-Haram to open and organise corridors and manage the flow of entry and exit — reducing congestion at the mosque’s busiest points during peak hours.

Direct Support at the Point of Need

The “Ask Me” initiative is built around placing qualified staff exactly where pilgrims are — inside the courtyards — rather than at fixed service desks.

This allows for immediate, on-the-spot guidance and support, giving worshippers the confidence to navigate the mosque’s vast grounds without difficulty and perform their acts of worship with ease and peace of mind.

The Authority confirmed that field services will continue to be developed to keep pace with the growing number of Umrah pilgrims and visitors arriving at the Grand Mosque.
