The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has received the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Award for Best Administrative Efficiency in recognition of its outstanding performance during the 2026 Hajj operations.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, the award was presented to the Board, led by its Director General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, during the Post-2026 Hajj Review Summit held at the Hajj House Conference Hall in Abuja.
Presenting the award, the Chairman of NAHCON, Ambassador Isma’il Abba Yusuf, said the Kano Board was selected for its exemplary administrative efficiency, effective coordination, and commitment to the successful conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
He commended the Board for demonstrating exceptional leadership and operational excellence throughout the pilgrimage, describing its performance as a benchmark for Hajj administration in Nigeria.
In his response, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, expressed gratitude to NAHCON for the recognition.
He dedicated the award to the Government and people of Kano State, as well as the Board’s management and staff, whose hard work, commitment, and teamwork contributed to the successful 2026 Hajj operations.
Matawalle reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery and introducing initiatives that will further improve the welfare, comfort, and overall experience of Kano State pilgrims in future Hajj exercises.
