The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced the approval of five air carriers to participate in the airlift of Nigerian pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The Commission said the approval followed a comprehensive screening and evaluation exercise carried out by the Aviation Screening Committee, with emphasis on aviation safety, operational capacity and financial capability.
The approved airlines are:
Air Peace Limited
Flynas
Max Air Limited
Saudi Air
UMZA Aviation Services Limited
NAHCON explained that the engagement of the approved carriers remains subject to the signing of airlift agreements with the Commission and compliance with all requirements set by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
The Commission added that passenger allocations and flight schedules would be determined in consultation with State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies and the approved operators.
It further directed all carriers to comply fully with Hajj 2027 operational guidelines, including the issuance of tickets linked to pilgrims’ Nusuk-Masar records and strict adherence to aviation safety regulations.
Under the baggage requirements, each pilgrim will be allowed one 32kg checked-in bag and one 8kg hand luggage, in line with the applicable regulatory provisions.
NAHCON urged all stakeholders, including State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, intending pilgrims and air operators, to cooperate with the approved carriers to ensure a safe, smooth and comfortable airlift operation for Nigerian pilgrims.
