Speaking during the flag-off ceremony, Alhaji Sa’ad Hassan emphasised that the vaccination is mandatory for all pilgrims registered under the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board. He stated that the exercise is a crucial part of preparations for this year’s Hajj and is aimed at safeguarding the health of the pilgrims during their spiritual journey.

He further announced that every pilgrim from Gombe State would receive the sum of 500 US Dollars in cash as their Basic Traveling Allowance (BTA). He assured that all necessary arrangements have been finalized to ensure that each pilgrim receives this amount promptly.

Alhaji Sa’ad Hassan also confirmed that the total number of intending pilgrims from Gombe State for the 2025 Hajj is 962. He expressed gratitude to the Gombe State Government under the leadership of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his continuous support, revealing that the state government has generously paid the Hajj tax on behalf of all pilgrims.

The Executive Secretary clarified that the vaccination exercise is strictly for pilgrims who made their payments through the Gombe State Muslim Pilgrim Welfare Board or Jaiz Bank. He stressed that those who registered through other private agencies would not be eligible for the vaccination provided by the board.

Alhaji Sa’ad Hassan reiterated the importance of compliance, noting that the board was committed to ensuring that all registered pilgrims fulfil all necessary health requirements before their departure to the Holy Land.

In his final remarks, he advised all pilgrims to be law-abiding citizens throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia. He reminded them that upholding good behaviour is crucial for the success of their pilgrimage and for promoting the positive image of Gombe State and Nigeria at large.

The launch ceremony drew a large attendance, including officials of the Board, intending pilgrims, religious leaders, and other key stakeholders involved in this year’s Hajj preparations.

The vaccination exercise marks a significant step in Gombe State’s readiness for the 2025 Hajj, reflecting the government’s commitment to the welfare and safety of its pilgrims.
