The Kano state Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has warned the pilgrims to shun any form of vices at the Holy Land and be good ambassadors of Kano State.

He made the remarks while addressing the 560 intending pilgrims ready to be airlifted to SaudiArabia for this year’s Hajj, 2026.

This was contained in a press statement issued by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Saturday.

The Governor said the pilgrims should fear God and display exemplary behaviour as good ambassadors of Kano State.

“We believe our pilgrims are wonderful people and will not engage in any shameful act”, the Governor stated.

The Kano state government has provided medical team and hospital that will take care of any person fell sick at the Holy Land.

Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf said the government has done all what suppose to be done for the pilgrims.

“My Deputy Governor Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo was with you and briefed you on my behalf, we have done a lot to you especially on healthcare.”

The Governor reveled that his administration has appointed the Emir of Gaya, Dr Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, the well respected traditional ruler to be the Amirul Hajj for this year 2026 and the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad Maharaz to be his Deputy.

Earlier on, the Director General of the Kano state Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle commended the government for all the supports to have Hajj exercises without a hitch.

He informed the Governor that they had supplied all the 560 pilgrims for the first flight with soap, toothpaste and brush, because it is the first item they will look after when they arrived at Saud Arabia.

The Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, along side his Deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, the Speaker House of Assembly, the Amirul Hajj and other government dignitaries have waved the pilgrims a farewell and pray for them to arrive safely and have a blissful Hajj exercises.
