The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has received a delegation from the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj exercise.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board Habibu Yusuf Babura, the delegation, led by Malam Bin Usman, visited the state to assess key facilities, including the Hajj camp and airport, to ensure readiness for the smooth conduct of the upcoming pilgrimage.

Representing the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, the Director of Administration and Finance, Muhammad Umar Sambo, welcomed the NAHCON team and guided them through the inspection process.

During the visit, the team evaluated accommodation arrangements, screening centres at the Hajj camp, and airport facilities designated for pilgrims’ departure.

The delegation expressed satisfaction with the level of preparedness, noting that the state has put in place the necessary structures to effectively handle intending pilgrims.

Jigawa State had earlier earned commendation for its efficient coordination of Hajj operations in the previous year, a standard the NAHCON team encouraged the state to sustain.

The delegation also lauded the state government for its continued support towards pilgrims’ welfare, particularly in the areas of accommodation, healthcare services, and logistics.

They expressed confidence that Jigawa will maintain its strong performance in the 2026 Hajj operations.
