The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has refunded the sum of ₦3.4 billion to the Jigawa State Government, representing the full loan earlier provided by the state to facilitate the smooth conduct of the 2026 Hajj operations.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Habibu Yusuf Babura, the loan was approved by His Excellency, Governor Malam Umar Namadi, to enable the Board secure Hajj seats for intending pilgrims in good time and ensure effective planning for the pilgrimage.
The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, formally presented the refunded amount to the State Government, reaffirming the Board’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and prudent financial management.
He emphasized that the entire loan was repaid in full without any outstanding balance.
Alhaji Labbo expressed appreciation to Governor Umar Namadi for his unwavering support and commitment to strengthening Hajj administration in Jigawa State.
He noted that the Governor’s timely intervention played a significant role in the successful execution of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The Director General further assured the government and the people of Jigawa State that the Board would continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and efficiency in the management of Hajj affairs.
