The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has donated metal chairs and standing fans to the Hajj Terminal at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj operations.

 

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, said the Director General of the Board, Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, stated that the donation was aimed at strengthening collaboration among stakeholders and ensuring a smooth and successful Hajj exercise for pilgrims from Kano State.

 

According to him, the Board remains committed to providing maximum cooperation and support to airport authorities in order to achieve set objectives for this year’s pilgrimage.

 

Speaking during an official visit to the Board, the Regional General Manager of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at Kano Airport, Musa Okikiri, expressed appreciation for the contribution.

 

He assured that necessary arrangements would be put in place to support pilgrims throughout the Hajj operations.

 

He further explained that the donated chairs would be installed in the Hajj Terminal waiting area to improve passenger comfort prior to boarding procedures.

 

Okikiri also reassured prospective pilgrims that enhanced operational measures have been introduced, noting that pilgrims are expected to spend no more than one hour at the reception area before departure.

 

The initiative underscores the commitment of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board to improving the welfare and overall experience of pilgrims during the Hajj exercise.
