The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), the apex body representing Muslim communities and organizations across the South West states of Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, and Oyo, has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Alhaji Alidu Shutti on his recent appointment as the Acting Secretary of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

In a statement issued on Tuesday, January 7, 2024, MUSWEN lauded Alhaji Shutti’s vast experience in Hajj operations, urging him to leverage his wealth of knowledge for the benefit of the Muslim Ummah across the nation.

“We are confident that your extensive background and proven expertise in Hajj management will bring positive outcomes in your new role,” the statement read. “May Allah (SWT) guide you as you undertake this important responsibility.”

The organization also commended NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullah Usman Saleh, for his strategic decision to appoint a capable and experienced professional from within the commission’s ranks. MUSWEN praised the chairman’s foresight in prioritizing continuity and efficiency by selecting someone already familiar with NAHCON’s operations and culture, thus avoiding the need for additional training or induction.

“This appointment reflects painstaking diligence and a commitment to excellence. We pray that Allah (SWT) continues to guide your leadership as you work to enhance Hajj operations for Nigerians,” MUSWEN noted.

Reiterating its support for NAHCON, MUSWEN expressed optimism about strengthening its partnership with the commission to ensure seamless Hajj experiences for Muslims in the South West and beyond.

In conclusion, the MUSWEN President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, FCS, who also serves as the Deputy President-General (South) of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, prayed for Allah’s guidance for NAHCON and its leadership as they strive to ease Hajj processes for Nigerian pilgrims.
