The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, expresses deep sorrow over the passing of Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
In a statement signed by the Technical Assistant Media to the Chairman, Ahmad Mu’azu, said the chairman, sent his condolences to the immediate family of the late scholar, his students and followers over this great loss the Muslim Ummah.
The Chairman recalls the special role Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi played in the growth and reform of the Hajj sector in Nigeria. He remained a strong supporter of pilgrim welfare. His counsel helped improve religious guidance and spiritual readiness for Nigerians performing Hajj. Whenever the Commission needed direction on sensitive matters of faith, his doors were open. His wisdom provided practical solutions that improved the system used to serve pilgrims today.
“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was a great scholar and a guide. He stood for knowledge and righteous conduct. He always reminded us that every Nigerian pilgrim must be treated with dignity and care. His passing has left a void that will be hard to fill,” the Chairman says.
The Chairman prays that Allah SWT showers His mercy on the late scholar and beseeches Allah SWT to reward his lifelong service to Islam with Aljannatul Firdaus. He prays that Allah grants his family, his followers, and the wider community patience and comfort during this painful moment.
