The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has successfully concluded all accommodation arrangements for Nigerian pilgrims participating in the 2026 Hajj exercise in both Makkah and Madinah, ahead of the deadlines stipulated by the Saudi Arabian authorities.
In a statement by the Technical Assistant Media to the NAHCON Chairman, Ahmad Mu’azu, said the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of NAHCON, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, disclosed that the accommodation details have been fully uploaded and approved by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, marking a major milestone in Nigeria’s preparations for the 2026 pilgrimage.
He explained that the timely completion of the process aligns with the directive of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Kashim Shettima, GCON, who had instructed that all key Hajj arrangements be concluded within approved Saudi timelines to protect Nigeria’s interests and ensure smooth operations.
Professor Usman expressed appreciation to the Vice President for his guidance and consistent support, while also acknowledging the contributions of the high-powered delegation to Saudi Arabia, the NAHCON Board, the Nusuk Masar team, the leadership of the Forum of State Pilgrims Welfare Boards, NAHCON staff, and other critical stakeholders who worked tirelessly to achieve the feat.
With this development, Nigeria has secured its accommodation slots for the 2026 Hajj and stands among countries that have met this crucial requirement within the stipulated timeframe.
NAHCON, according to the Chairman, is now moving into the next phase of operational planning to ensure a successful and hitch-free 2026 Hajj exercise.
