In a bid to deepen engagement with stakeholders, the management team of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) visited the Oba of Lagos, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Babatunde, at his palace this afternoon.
During the visit, NAHCON Chairman, Professor Abdullahi Usman, emphasized the critical role of traditional rulers in educating pilgrims about the rites of Hajj and their civic responsibilities. He also sought the monarch’s support in sensitizing the Muslim Ummah on the Hajj Savings Scheme, highlighting its significance in addressing challenges associated with Hajj operations in Nigeria.
In his response, Oba Rilwan Babatunde expressed gratitude for the visit and commended NAHCON’s efforts. He urged the Chairman, his team, and other Hajj managers to ensure their operations align with the teachings of Islam, promoting fairness and transparency in their duties.
The visit marks another step in NAHCON’s efforts to foster collaboration with key stakeholders in advancing the effectiveness of Hajj administration in Nigeria.
