Since Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman became the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), some faceless enemies have been restless. They’ve been spreading fake news, sponsoring unbalanced media stories, and doing everything possible to tarnish the image of a man working day and night to reform Nigeria’s Hajj system.

Let’s be clear: Hajj is not politics. It is not business-as-usual. It is one of the five pillars of Islam. So we ask: Why would anyone want Hajj to fail in Nigeria? What do they gain if our pilgrims suffer?

These people don’t hate the man they hate the discipline and transparency he brought. He blocked corruption. He cleaned up the system. And now, they are fighting back because their personal interest is no longer protected.

Reports have even emerged that these same people are holding secret meetings with tour operators, airlines, service providers, and other stakeholders trying to frustrate the 2025 Hajj even in Saudi Arabia. Do they think Allah will let them succeed? Insha’Allah, all their evil plans against this noble journey will collapse before their eyes.

And it’s even more painful to see that the media outfits they use to attack NAHCON are mostly owned by Muslims. Have we turned Islam into a business? Is money now more important than truth? May Allah guide us.

But we have hope. We believe in the sincerity and capability of Professor Abdullahi Saleh. His reforms have brought respect to Nigeria’s name in Hajj matters. The Saudi authorities and other international partners have seen the difference. And, Insha’Allah, he will complete his tenure and continue if Allah wills.

To those behind these attacks, remember: Hajj is for Allah. You may fool people, but you cannot fool your Creator. May all who work against the success of Hajj face His judgment.

Support the truth. Stand with integrity. Pray for Hajj. Pray for Nigeria.
