During an orientation session held in Kano for key stakeholders, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, revealed that the team has been broken down into seven specialized committees. Each group, he said, is designed to handle a critical aspect of the pilgrimage, ranging from spiritual guidance to healthcare and media outreach.
“These committees are not just names on paper,” Danbappa emphasized. “They’re our operational arms to ensure every Kano pilgrim is safe, informed, and spiritually uplifted throughout the Hajj period.”
The Orientation Committee, under the leadership of Sheikh Tijjani Sani Mai Hula, is set to take pilgrims through rigorous training and spiritual preparation. For internal discipline and conflict resolution, Barrister Ibrahim Haruna Khalil heads the Tribunal Committee.
Also on the frontline is the Hisbah Committee, led by Dr. Mujahiddeen Aminuddeen, tasked with promoting proper Islamic conduct. Medical services will be overseen by Dr. Ibrahim Musa and his team, while environmental concerns—especially hygiene in residences—will be managed by Sanusi Kabir and the Environmental Committee.
To keep the public updated, Ibrahim Adam will coordinate the Media Committee’s activities, while Is-haq Abdullahi takes charge of real-time digital communication through the Social Media Committee.
Alhaji Danbappa praised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his unwavering support, noting that all logistics and resources required for smooth operations have been made available. “The governor has given us everything we need. Now it’s up to us to make Kano proud,” he added.
The event brought together representatives from mosques, healthcare institutions, Hajj tour operators, and civil society groups, all pledging their support to ensure a safe and spiritually rewarding experience for Kano pilgrims.
