The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has commenced preparations for the 2027 Hajj airlift with a stakeholders’ meeting held on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at its headquarters in Abuja.
In a statement posted on the it’s official Facebook page, NCAA said the meeting reviewed challenges recorded during previous Hajj operations and discussed measures to improve the safety, efficiency and coordination of the 2027 airlift.
Representing the Director-General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards and Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Ahmad Abba, mni, reaffirmed the NCAA’s commitment to working with all relevant stakeholders to ensure a smooth Hajj operation.
The Commissioner of Operations, Inspectorate and Licensing, Prince Anofi Olanrewaju Elegushi, also briefed participants on key issues, including Saudi Arabia’s proposed policy to allocate 98 per cent of pilgrims to tour operators and the planned allocation of states to airlines for the 2027 Hajj airlift.
Representatives of NAHCON, NiMet, NAMA and participating airlines Saudi Air, Flynas, Air Peace, Max Air and Umza presented updates and shared their perspectives on preparations for the operation.
