Sana Company, one of the service providers for Nigerian pilgrims in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has honoured the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, with an award as the Best Governor in Nigeria in recognition of his outstanding coordination, welfare initiatives, and commitment to the well-being of pilgrims during the 2026 Hajj exercise.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, the award was presented during an award dinner held at Iskan, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. Speaking at the event, the Head of Sana Company, Alhaji Abdullah Muhammad Hassan, commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his dedication to ensuring the comfort and welfare of Kano State pilgrims throughout the Hajj period.
Other distinguished award recipients included Alhaji Sheikh Bashir Arabi, Board Member; Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board; and the Amirul Hajj of the Year, His Royal Highness, the Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir.
In his address, the Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, explained that Sana Company serves as the custodian of pilgrims’ passports for the processing of Nusuk services and is also responsible for providing food and transportation services in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah.
Alhaji Matawalle expressed appreciation to Sana Company for the recognition and thanked the management for the award bestowed upon the Kano State delegation.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Amirul Hajj of the Year and Emir of Gaya, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir, thanked Sana Company for the honour and for Recognising the Governor’s efforts in supporting pilgrims and enhancing Hajj operations.
The event was attended by management staff, Islamic scholars (Ulama), government officials, and other dignitaries.
