A group photograph captures mixed emotions as staff of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Kaduna Outreach Office, gather to honour the Outreach Coordinator, Malam Yusuf Ahmad Balele, following the successful completion of his years of service to the Hajj Commission.
Malam Yusuf Balele officially begins his retirement today, Wednesday, 14 October – 2026, having completed his service to NAHCON yesterday. His retirement marks the end of a remarkable chapter of dedicated service to the Commission and to Nigerian Pilgrims, the Special Guests of Allah, Ar-Rahman.
The gathering provided an opportunity for each and every staff member to reflect on and share his or her personal experiences of working with the retiring Coordinator. In their separate remarks, colleagues shared fond memories of his leadership, mentorship and willingness to impart knowledge and experience throughout his tenure.
Since assuming office in 2011, Malam Yusuf has demonstrated a strong commitment to nurturing professional relationships, sharing institutional knowledge and guiding colleagues in the discharge of their respective tasks and responsibilities.
In his farewell address, he urged staff members to uphold the spirit of brotherhood, unity and mutual respect throughout their service to the Pilgrims and Hajj Commission, as well as their collective responsibility to the Special Guests of Allah, during both onshore and offshore operations.
He further encouraged his former colleagues to remain dedicated, diligent and steadfast in the discharge of their duties as NAHCON staff, regardless of the challenges they encounter, whether under the scorching sun or in the pouring rain. He reminded them that, with commitment and perseverance, they too would one day reach the remarkable milestone of a well-deserved retirement.
He expressed particular appreciation to the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for its cordial cooperation, as well as to other states and Hajj stakeholders, during his tenure as NAHCON’s Zonal Coordinator.
As Malam Yusuf Ahmad Balele begins this new chapter of his life, the NAHCON Kaduna Outreach Office celebrates his contributions and wishes him a fulfilling, peaceful and rewarding retirement.
His years of service may have come to an end, but the knowledge he shared, the lives he influenced and the legacy he leaves behind will remain part of the Commission’s institutional memory.
Responding to the encouragement of his former colleagues, he promised to remain available to offer advice and suggestions on how to handle challenging situations and said he could be contacted whenever the need arises.
May Allah SWT barakalize his retirement with good health, peace of mind, abundant blessings and continued opportunities to serve the Nigerian Pilgrims, the Ummah and humanity in general.
