The Emir of Anka and Amirul Hajj of Zamfara for the 2026 Hajj exercise, Alhaji Attahiru Muhammad Ahmad, has expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the successful conduct of this year’s pilgrimage, describing it as one of the smoothest Hajj operations in recent years.
Speaking in an interview with Hajj Chronicles after the conclusion of the pilgrimage, the Amirul Hajj said there was every reason to celebrate the success recorded throughout the exercise, noting that the operation was conducted without any major incident from the beginning to the end.
“We have every reason to celebrate. First, we thank Almighty Allah for granting us a smooth and unhindered Hajj operation this year. From the commencement of the airlift to the conclusion of the pilgrimage, there was no problem whatsoever and no incident was recorded,” he said.
He said one of the major messages consistently delivered to Nigerian pilgrims during the exercise was the need to conduct themselves as worthy ambassadors of the country while in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Assessing the conduct of Nigerian pilgrims, the Emir commended them for their exemplary behaviour, saying he received no reports of misconduct throughout the Hajj season.
“So far, I have to commend Nigerian pilgrims this year because I did not hear anything negative from all my sources. They conducted themselves well, and I pray that future pilgrims will continue to uphold this good image in the years ahead,” he stated.
The Zamfara State Amirul Hajj also advised Muslims intending to perform future Hajj to make their payments early to enable authorities to complete all necessary arrangements on time.
According to him, early payment remains one of the key factors in ensuring the smooth planning and successful execution of Hajj operations.
He urged prospective pilgrims to cooperate with Hajj authorities and adhere to all guidelines to sustain the successes recorded during the 2026 pilgrimage.
