His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, PhD, FCNA, has approved the constitution of the 2026 Sokoto State Hajj Delegation to oversee and coordinate all activities related to the 2026 Hajj Operations in Nigeria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement by the Director General Media and Publicity to Sokoto State Governor Abubakar Bawa, said the 13-member delegation will be led by the Honourable Minister for Labour and Employment, Alh. Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi (Katukan Sokoto), who has been appointed as Amirul Hajj.

Terms of Reference
The Delegation is mandated to:
i. Plan, coordinate, supervise, and ensure a successful 2026 Hajj Operations in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
ii. Supervise the activities of Sub-Committees in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia for the successful implementation of the 2026 Hajj Operations.
iii. Ensure appropriate arrangements for accommodation, feeding, and general welfare of the State’s pilgrims.
iv. Perform any other duties necessary to ensure the success of the 2026 Hajj Operations.
The Governor expressed confidence in the capacity, experience, and integrity of the delegation to deliver a seamless and spiritually fulfilling Hajj exercise for all pilgrims from Sokoto State.
