The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has exhausted its allocation for the 2027 Hajj following a surge in demand from intending pilgrims across the state.

According to the statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Habibu Yusuf Babura, the Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, FCFA, NFI, disclosed this while speaking with journalists in his office.
Labbo said the Board had formally approached the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to request additional seats to enable more intending pilgrims from Jigawa State to perform the 2027 pilgrimage.
According to him, the high demand has made it necessary for the state to seek an increase in its allocation.
He also disclosed that the portal for the submission and capture of intending pilgrims’ passport data is currently closed.
The Director-General said the Forum of State Hajj Chairmen had appealed to NAHCON to reopen the portal, expressing optimism that the request would receive favourable consideration.
He explained that reopening the portal would provide an opportunity for additional intending pilgrims to complete the necessary documentation once more seats are approved for the state.
Labbo commended the staff of the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board for their commitment, dedication and hard work, which he said had contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the 2027 Hajj preparations.
