The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has commenced a capacity-building programme for its zonal officers on the use of dollar debit cards ahead of the 2027 Hajj exercise.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Habibu Yusuf Babura, the training was organized in line with the new Saudi Arabian Hajj regulations, which require intending pilgrims to utilize dollar debit cards during the 2027 Hajj.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has directed all State Pilgrims Welfare Boards to implement the policy as part of preparations for the pilgrimage.
Conducted in partnership with Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), the workshop is designed to equip zonal officers with the knowledge and practical skills needed to guide intending pilgrims on the proper use of the cards.
Declaring the training open, the Director General of the Board, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Labbo, stressed that early preparation is essential to ensuring smooth and efficient Hajj operations.
He urged participants to make the most of the training by applying the knowledge gained and sharing it with intending pilgrims in their respective zones to ensure they are adequately prepared before departure.
Alhaji Labbo reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to providing the necessary support and guidance to pilgrims throughout the Hajj process, expressing confidence that the early preparations would contribute to a successful and seamless 2027 Hajj operation.
