The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced the commencement of registration and collection of the initial Hajj deposit for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, made the announcement during a press conference held at the Board’s headquarters in Kano on Sunday.
Matawalle disclosed that the initial Hajj deposit of 8 Million naira was approved after extensive consultations and careful consideration to ensure a smooth preparation for the 2027 pilgrimage.
He explained that the Board has introduced a transparent payment process, directing all intending pilgrims to make their payments through bank drafts, which must be submitted to the Hajj Centre Officers in their respective Local Government Areas.
The Director General cautioned prospective pilgrims against dealing with unauthorized individuals, urging them to adhere strictly to the official procedures approved by the Kano State Government.
He further announced that the sale of Hajj seats and payment of deposits will run from July 12 to September 26, 2026, encouraging intending pilgrims to complete their registration early to avoid last-minute congestion and enable the Board to make adequate preparations.
According to him, the Board remains committed to providing efficient, transparent, and quality services to ensure Kano pilgrims perform the pilgrimage in comfort, safety, and dignity.
Matawalle expressed appreciation to the Governor of Kano State for his unwavering support for pilgrims’ welfare, while also thanking religious leaders, stakeholders, and the people of the state for their continued cooperation.
He concluded by praying to Allah to accept the intentions of all prospective pilgrims, grant them an accepted Hajj, and return them safely to their families.
