The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board will introduce an outreach medical screening programme at the Local Government Area level ahead of the 2027 Hajj exercise.
According to the Public Relations Officer of the Board, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi, the initiative is aimed at making medical screening more accessible to intending pilgrims, particularly those residing in rural areas of the state.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this today during the one-hour programme Fitila, aired on Radio Kano.
Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle said the Board would also introduce additional arrangements for the 2027 Hajj operation after all intending pilgrims had been successfully uploaded to the relevant server.
He further urged intending pilgrims who have yet to submit their international passports to do so on or before 31 August 2026.
The Director-General emphasised that there would be no extension of the deadline for the submission and uploading of international passport details to the server.
He therefore called on all intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their passports to comply with the directive within the stipulated period to avoid missing out on the Hajj arrangements.
Alhaji Abubakar Matawalle expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for its continued support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims in the state.
